Au Pair Programs
NEW: work as a LANGUAGE ASSISTANT in a school while living with a Spanish host family
AU PAIR IN SPAIN is the perfect option to study and travel in Spain. You spend from 1 to 3 months (summer time) up to 1 year living with a spanish host family and caring for their children.
You can choose from the following programs depending on your needs or preferences:
- You do: 30 hours per week caring for the children, doing light housework and teaching your language to the children/family. You may help 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, or 5 hours a day during 6 days a week You may be required to baby-sit twice or 3 times a week at night, but never during consecutive days (if the family goes out on Fridays, the au pair would go out on Saturday or viceversa). During school holidays, you may be required to provide extra help to the family, in exchange, you will also get extra pocket money.
You get: 70 € per week approx as pocket money if you live downtown or 80 € per week if you live on the outskirts. Free private room and full board to be provided by the Host Family during 7 days a week. Time available to attend Spanish courses and participate in cultural and other educational opportunities.
Free time and holidays: 1 and a half day per week (normally Saturday afternoon and Sunday) if you help the family 5 hours a day, or 2 free days per week if you help the family 6 hours a day (normally weekends). The host family will provide 1 week paid vacation for 6 months of service or 2 weeks for 12 months of service.
Travel costs/ Language course: The au pair is responsible for the costs of her/his travel and language courses.
- This program offers the same benefits as the standard program but with the following differences:You assist the family during 8 hours a day, 5 days a week (40 hours per week). You will get free weekends and more pocket money, around 90€ per week if you live downtown or 100 € per week if you live on the outskirts .
You assist the family during 2-3 hours a day, 5 days a week (10-15 hours per week), mainly for language lessons and conversation purposes. You will get a free private room and full board, free weekend, but no pocket money. It is the best option for language assistants.
